According to the Royal Decree 1112/2018, all Public Administration websites or their agencies must be accessible to people with diverse abilities. Accessibility must be implemented following WCAG 2.1 guidelines, complemented with actions, implementations, and documentation specific to the Ministry.
All entities part of the Public Administration must comply with accessibility requirements. This includes both central, regional, local governments, and other public entities.
Websites of entities receiving public funding or performing a public function, such as public universities, public hospitals, state, and regional entities, among others.
Companies providing services to the public sector, such as those managing data or information on behalf of public agencies, must also ensure the accessibility of their platforms and systems.
Any digital service that facilitates administrative procedures or dealings with the Public Administration must be accessible to ensure that everyone can use them, regardless of their abilities.
Examples include public transportation services, healthcare services, education, and other essential services provided to the public.
